A Big Thank You

A Big Thank You

I’m not going to sugarcoat it or pretend otherwise - this post is going to focus on things here at Slate & Rose. We’ve come a long way in the past couple of years, which is partly due to hard work and a lot to do with those who’ve helped us out on Instagram and also on TV. We’d like to take a moment and say thank you to everyone who’ve helped us along on our path.

We’ve been active on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest all the time that we’ve been trading, and most of us have had accounts on one or more of these platforms for some time before that. The jury was out for several of us as to whether these social media platforms were of any benefit. Sometimes they can have an actual negative affect. Pinterest can eat up more time than I’d like to admit. So I’m not going to! Those thoughts have been dispelled now however, as the power of social media has proven itself to be a mighty positive force.

Before the medium of the social sharing platform came along, the only real way to become known was through promotion, advertisement and word of mouth. All of these options are available through the various available social networks, and all without the need for a penny to be spent.

Through following other users of interest, and posting what we hope is engaging content, we’ve gained a modest following of our own. From that we’ve managed to reach out to others of similar interests, such as @megiiva, @end_of_the_row and chelshome_ who loved our lamp shades and lanterns. @no40_home_renovation, and @sammys_x_home were kind enough to tell us how much they liked our range of trays, whilst @houseofharwoodandrose and @theterrace72 favourably reviewed our mirrors and clocks. Thanks for this all of you.

We’d like to offer another word of gratitude to ITV’s Love Your Home and Garden programme.
This was a great opportunity for us to move into a different sphere, and Alan Titchmarsh and his team did a great job, as you’d expect them to do. We were delighted that we could help out with their venture in aid of dementia, and were really pleased to be credited for doing so.

A lot more exciting things are in the pipeline at the moment, so perhaps we’ll be sending out another message of appreciation at some point in the future. Watch this space...
